I’ve missed playing FFOF for a while. Guess I haven’t done too good a job keeping up with which set of questions was for which Friday :???: . Anyhow this week’s question is:

What can you make with eggs, meat or poultry, vegetables and a starch?

First thing that comes to mind is fried rice. It’s a simple one-dish meal that’s great for clearing any leftovers in my fridge.

The good thing is you can use practically anything – rice, barbecued pork, sausages, and veggies though soft veggies like cabbage don’t taste as good when refried. So I usually add a handful of freshly diced carrots, French beans or long beans, basically a harder vegetable to give it a bit of a crunch.

No two fried rice I make are the same, simply because it really depends on what ingredients I happen to have on hand. Here are my recipes for spicy fried rice and the yummiest fried rice ever  .

four foods on Friday 107

I’ve been out of whack with regards to the timing of my FFOF posts lately. But hopefully this week, I’ve got the timing right  .

1. Name two items on your kitchen counter.

Electric hot pot (keep water hot all the time) and a porcelain tea pot.

2. What’s in your sink now?

Nothing.

3. What’s on your stove now?

An empty wok which I use every day.

4. What’s in your oven now?

Nothing, it’s dead and I’ve been shopping for a new oven.

four foods on Friday 105

Oh no, I’m late to FFOF this week  . Another one question week. I love how quick and easy these questions are.

What are your four favorite soups?

  1. clam chowder
  2. chicken and mushroom soup
  3. carrot potato soup which is my comfort soup
  4. Thai tomyam soup made super-spicy for my tastebuds
  5. green pea soup which is sweet and I’ve heard it touted as a pretty effective eczema treatment because of its cooling effect on the entire body system

four foods on Friday 104

Once again, valmg has only one question this week and it’s easier than going on a job search philadelphia.

Name four things you are planning on eating this weekend.

  1. cereal with milk
  2. roast chicken
  3. fish and chips (we’re seriously addicted)
  4. tangerines (I just bought another ton of it!)

valmg is trying something new this week so she only has one question for us. Good thing she’s not asking for life insurance leads but to…

Name four things you ate today.

  1. cereal and milk
  2. chicken in sweet sour sauce over rice
  3. fried flat noodles
  4. tangerines.

How about you?
