four foods on Friday 69
It sure is a rainy Friday the 13th. I dropped the kids off and turned back home to write up this post instead of heading to the gym. The traffic build-up on rainy mornings is enough to drive me crazy.
#1. Olive oil. What kind do you prefer to use?
I use both light and extra virgin olive oil depending on my mood what I’m cooking. I don’t really know the difference between the two
. But if I’m cooking something plain where I want the flavor of the olive oil to shine through, then I use extra virgin. If the sauce is flavorful, say a red or white sauce, and will overwhelm the taste of the olive oil, then I use light.
#2. Meatballs. Do you make them from scratch, buy premade cooked or buy premade frozen?
I make them from scratch.
#3. Do you use napkins at home? Paper or cloth?
Neither. I use the back of my hand
, nah, just kiddin’. If I’m not in a rush, I brush my teeth, otherwise I rinse my mouth and run. When am I ever not in a rush?
#4. Share a recipe for a white sauce.
So happens we had spaghetti carbonara on this week’s lunch menu. I made white sauce, or rather my version of a white sauce for what I call international spaghetti carbonara (you’ll have to read my post to find out why I call it that
).

I don’t know the difference either. We’ll blush together!
That carbonara sounds delicious! I would have never thought of putting enoki mushrooms.
The questions made me hungry for Italian and so we had Spaghetti pie last night.
@anele
!
Seems like most people don’t know either
@jmom
Me neither but it was what I had at the time, and it tasted pretty good too.
@karen
.
I’ve never heard of spaghetti pie
Spaghetti pie sounds delicious, but I don’t think my family would appreciate it.
@sheri
.
Mine neither
LOL that’s funny about the back of your hand. Reminds me of when our son was little. He would wipe his mouth on his shoulder after lunch at school. I was always having to spot treat the shoulders on his shirts.
@charla
OMG what a laundry nightmare that must’ve been!
