I love butter, period. I don’t care what the people with jobs in health care say, I’m not quitting butter in favor of margarine
! No way, Jose!

Once in a while, when I’m in a baguette buying frenzy, I will make my own garlic butter. I just peel a few cloves of garlic, pop them in the blender, mix with a few scoops of butter and I’m done. Of course, you can vary the amount of garlic depending on how strong a flavor you prefer.
I slap the garlic butter on halved baguette slices, pop them in my oven toaster and I’ve got a crunchy breakfast toast with my morning coffee. Oh and one more thing, remember not to kiss anyone afterwards or they’ll remember you for life
!!!

Hi, just dropping by from EC dropping
Wanted to drop but no widget on the main home page??
On a relevant note: I can remember at least two people in my life that have had garlic butter during their meal prior… I’m just thankful it hasn’t put me off garlic butter! It just goes so well with so many things!

Sorry, I’ve just noticed there’s a problem with my theme and I’m trying to get it fixed now.

Well, you’re in luck because butter (real, true, chemical free butter) is BETTER for you than margarine! It is a sham that margarine is a “health” food. It isn’t even a food – it is a tub of processed oil.
Butter up!

Sinclair is right. Margarine contains trans fats, which are worse for your heart than the saturated fats that butter contains. Anyone in the health profession worth their salt will tell you to stay away from margarine, and choose butter if it is a choice between the two. Of course, olive oil and other monosaturated fats are the best fats to use in food, but butter in moderation isn’t all that bad. The body actually needs fat, and certain studies are finding that we might actually need a tiny bit of cholesterol in our diets because cholesterol is essential to forming the membranes of new cells, which our body continually makes until we die (mostly skin cells, so a little cholesterol in your diet might help you look younger). So, there you go, according to my armchair expertise, butter makes you look younger!

I’m with you on the butter! I’m so bad that when a recipe calls for margarine I use butter. I just copied down a recipe that uses pineapple and one of the ingredients is margarine. No way! Everyone knows that butter goes great with pineapple.

I would never have thought of pineapple with butter but it sounds great

One night I had leftover pineapple chunks and didn’t want to throw them away. I melted a little BUTTER in a frying pan, added the pineapple (drained) and a little coconut. Fried everything until it was slightly browned and boy was it good!

Our little chats about pineapple made me want a pineapple sandwich for dinner. I made one and of course had leftover pineapple. Guess what I’m making tonight with my leftover pineapple? You got it, fried pineapple and coconut.
