four foods on Friday #34
1. What is one food that is grown, produced or made near where you live.
This is my neighbor’s papaya tree which never seems to stop bearing fruit as far as I can see.
A shame that I don’t eat papayas or there won’t be any left on that tree.
2. What is one food from another location that you haven’t had anything like anywhere else.
The lobsters in Sydney, Australia are absolutely the freshest. So are the scallops. I had the lobsters at a restaurant on the pier overlooking Sydney Harbor. I think they were simply drizzled in butter but they tasted so good.
The scallops, I pan-fried them myself. They tasted very yummy despite the fact that I had no idea what I was doing, hahaha.
3. What is your favorite food from somewhere else?
Gosh, this is hard. I have so many favorite foods from so many places, greedy me! Tomyam soup originated from Thailand and that’s where I’ve tasted the best and spiciest soup. I ordered it at every restaurant I went to. I could drink a whole pot if you let me
!
4. Share a family, ethnic or international recipe.
I make these butterfly wontons all the time. They’re so yummily crunchy we never get tired of eating them. No matter how big a batch I make, they’re gone in minutes even as I’m frying them.

I just happen to have bought wonton wrappers for no reason at the store, now I have something to make! YAY!
@anele
Mmm yum, let me know how it goes, ok?
Thanks for playing FFOF!
Oops. Stumbled.
[...] Chili Queen shared a recipe for butterfly wontons. She lives in Kuala Lumpor (I think) and papayas grow right in her neighbor’s yard. [...]
Sounds yummy. I’m going to have to get some wonton wrappers!

@corrin
