Friday is usually the day I hang up my spatula, grab the kids and have dinner out. After a whole week of eating in, this is something we always look forward to.
But before I go, here’s this week’s meme from Fun, Crafts and Recipes. Come join us for fun on Fridays by answering 4 simple foodie questions.
#1. What’s your favorite fruit and how do you like to eat it?
Wow, I have so many favorites I don’t know where to start. I love watermelons, mangoes, bananas, pears, rock melons. But my favorite of favorites has to be cantaloupe for its flowery fragrance.
#2. What is the one spice in your kitchen you use more than any other?
I have a bottle of Cajun spice that I use very often.
#3. Pudding. Instant, stovetop or premade?
Premade, I guess.
#4. Share a recipe using potatoes.
I just made this recipe of baked potatoes today, yes again by popular demand. Scrub clean a few russet potatoes. Rub the skin all over with oil. Pierce holes all over the potato to allow the air to escape when baking. Microwave the potatoes on high for 10-15 minutes.
Meantime, fry up some corned beef in a saucepan. When the potato is ready, remove from microwave and cut a slit right through it lengthwise. Top with a blob of butter and corned beef and chives. Mmm.

I never thought about canteloupe having a fragrance but it does! That must be why I think of summer while I eat it. They should make a Yankee Candle called canteloupe.
